Art by Cindi Finley

Artist Statement:
Art has always been a natural part of who I am. As a child, I loved making things—whether it was a felt poster, a handmade card, or something stitched or painted. Creating has always given me a sense of purpose and joy. Even though I didn’t pick up a paintbrush until my late twenties, I knew in my heart that I would never stop making or exploring new ways to express myself.Alongside my creative path, I earned my RN nursing degree as well as a Bachelor of Fine Art. Both fields have shaped how I see the world—nursing deepened my understanding of people, emotion, and resilience, while art has given me a way to express those experiences in a visual and meaningful form.I started with photography and digital art, which opened my eyes to how images can tell stories and stir emotion. Over time, I began experimenting with collage, image transfer, acrylics, and oils. I enjoy the freedom of moving between mediums and letting each process lead me somewhere unexpected. My work is about discovery—layer by layer, mistake by mistake—until something honest and meaningful takes shape.
